Fortnite Cross-Progression: Purchases, Accounts and V-Bucks

The Epic account is the centre

Cross-progression works when console and mobile accounts are linked to the same active Epic Games account. Epic permits one account of each platform type to be linked at a time. Progress stored on separate Epic accounts cannot simply be merged, so the account choice should be checked before redeeming a paid code.

What normally carries over

Epic says purchased content and progress are available across linked Xbox, PlayStation, PC, Switch and mobile platforms, with specific exceptions for V-Bucks. Cosmetic items bought with V-Bucks are generally available wherever the account can use them.

Why the V-Bucks balance can differ

Purchased V-Bucks do not always use one shared wallet. Epic notes that V-Bucks bought on Nintendo Switch are not shared with other platforms or the Fortnite Web Shop. Earned V-Bucks and items purchased with them follow different rules.

A code should therefore be matched to both the correct Epic account and the intended device or wallet.

Before redeeming a Fortnite product

• Sign in to the Epic account that contains the progress you want to keep.
• Verify linked console accounts before redemption.
• Check whether the product is V-Bucks, a bundle, a subscription or a cosmetic pack.
• Confirm platform and region on the listing.
• Do not create a second Epic account merely to redeem a code.
